  • 5. To designate isomers of hollow fullerenes, the carbon cages are labeled by their symmetry and the number in accordance with the Fowler–Monolopoulos spiral algorithm. Usually, a short form of numbering system is used, in which only IPR isomers are numbered. In this paper, a short form of numbering system is used for IPR isomers, as given in “An Altas of Fullerenes”, while full numbering system is adopted for non-IPR isomers to simplify comparison of the discussion in this paper with previous literatures.
